Deliberate lowering of blood pressure isn’t the goal either; the goal is to maintain a safe hemodynamic state that supports adequate organ perfusion. Preventing infection involves broader measures beyond fluid therapy, such as aseptic technique and antibiotics, not just fluid management.

So the best answer is maintaining hemodynamic stability and tissue perfusion.
